USE YOUR MIND RIGHT

It’s critical that you understand how to use your mind right, because that’s your ticket to the next and higher level you desire. One of the first things you must learn to do with your mind is to focus it on the right this. Isaiah 26: 3 says – “Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee .”

Now , notice the scripture doesn’t say, “…whose hands and legs are stayed on thee,” but “whose  mind is stayed on thee”. This is very instructive. He is telling us again about  this instrument called the MIND.  If you have ever asked or wondered what you are supposed to do for the power of God to work in your behalf and keep you in peace and prosperity, you’ve got your answer right there – stay your mind on the Lord!

You may be thinking, “How do I stay my mind on the Lord and remain in the peace of prosperity?”. Deuteronomy 6:5 tells us something very instructive in this regard; it says: “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might”.

Have you ever pondered this scripture and wondered how one could love the Lord with all his might , since love as an emotion is not necessarily expressed through physical energy?. Firstly, you have to understand that loving the Lord with all your might is the same as loving Him with all your mind – Matthew 22:35-37.  This implies focusing or channeling your mind in a certain direction. This is what you use your mind for. When you focus your mind, it helps to direct your energies and bring them to bear on a particular thing or activity.

YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR MIND:

Setting your mind on something or someone presupposes that you are in control of your mind. Now that’s one of the most profound truths you will ever read or hear about your mind. Your mind is under your control, and you have got to acknowledge this truth, accept it, endorse it and act like it!

Note: Your Spirit has the capacity to control your mind. Be spiritually minded!

When I talk about being spiritually minded, I mean setting your mind on spiritual things and I’m not referring  to every spiritual thing because Satan and his demons are spirits, and they also have their spiritual things.  There are people who are spiritually minded in that negative direction, but that’s not what God wants you to do. The context here is Spiritual Things Towards God.

BE THE REAL YOU.

Finding yourself, making meaning

Adolescence is the time to explore one’s inner and outer world. It is a time to seek new activities and experiences. And this helps young people try something on for size, see if they like it, and then decide if they want to make it part of their life. Unfortunately so many young people today are not actually able to explore—teens are often either disillusioned from the banality of school or over achieving students are on the treadmill and cannot step off for fear of falling behind.

The biggest problem growing up today is not actually stress, it’s meaninglessness. Without a sense of meaning and purpose teens will either fall away, disinterested in school or continue to achieve without a sense of agency or excitement.

Creating a sense of purpose at this stage in life starts with basic “why” questions: why are we taking this class? Why are we in school? Why am I learning algebra? These are straightforward and educators often try to answer them. But most school settings fail to address the even larger questions: Why was I put on this earth? What do I want to do with my life? Why am I having trouble figuring out my identity? A real education of adolescents must start with these “why” questions and then begin to help young people develop their own identity, sense of purpose, and understanding of the world and their place in it.
